Gov't Mule Gibson Rooftop Memphis, TN 10.24.07 The Gibson Guitar factory and store in Memphis was quite the apropos setting for a Gov't Mule show. With Gibson in hand, Warren led the band into a rockin' first set that started with Streamline Woman, followed by Perfect Shelter and Slackjaw Jezebel. After a jazzy Birth Of The Mule, Banks of The Deep End brought the crowd to Sugaree with Andy singing backup vocals. The band then shifted gears into Unring The Bell and a brilliant Brighter Days before Grace Potter joined in to close the set with the Stones' classic Honky Tonk Women. The 12 String Gibson started off the 2nd set with So Weak, So Strong prior to taking a trip into Reblow Your Mind. Two classics, Rocking Horse and Thorazine Shuffle rocked right on into Drums, while on the back end of Matt's solo, Johnny Bratton Jam slid into King's Highway. The set closer was a ferocious Mule that left just enough people standing to enjoy the night's encore, Out Of The Rain. What's the difference between FLAC and MP3? Click here to check it out. A lay community of thoroughly mixed-up people is encamped outside Imber Abbey, home of an order of sequestered nuns. A new bell is being installed when suddenly the old bell, a legendary symbol of religion and magic, is rediscovered. And then things begin to change. Meanwhile the wise old Abbess watches and prays and exercises discreet authority. And everyone, or almost everyone, hopes to be saved, whatever that may mean. Originally published in 1958, this funny, sad, and moving novel is about religion, sex, and the fight between good and evil.
